Our Summer 2022/Fall 2022 admissions application is OPEN and students can apply at [auburn.edu/apply]auburn.edu/apply or via the Common App. For students to have a complete application we need them to turn in the online portion of the application, an unofficial transcript, and their official ACT/SAT score (unless they apply as test-optional).
2. We are offering campus visits Monday through Friday at 8:30, 10:30, and 2:30 (additional 12:30 time on Fridays). Tell your students to come visit our campus and see if Auburn could be a place they call home for the next four years! Sign up for a campus tour at [auburn.edu/visit]auburn.edu/visit.

FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIPS FOR IN-STATE STUDENTS 2022 - 2023
New Merit-Based Scholarship ProcessStudents applying for Summer or Fall 2022 and beyond must submit a scholarship application to be considered for merit-based scholarships. The scholarship application will be available on September 1 in the Blazer Scholarship Management and Resource Tool (BSMART).
In addition to the information you provide on your scholarship application, UAB will utilize several academic performance factors in determining scholarship awards - strength of curriculum, grades, grade point average and test scores, if you wish to have them considered. Scholarship awards are 4-year awards ranging from $2,000 to $10,000 per year.
Merit-Based Scholarship Eligibility

• Priority Deadline - March 1
• Test Scores - If you chose to include your test scores for admission and scholarship consideration, your February ACT and March SAT test scores from your senior year will be the last scores considered for scholarship purposes.
• GPA - The GPA utilized for review is the cumulative GPA submitted at the time of admission.
• Residency - Students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and legal residents of Alabama.

  One of the most important tasks for high school seniors is applying for scholarships.  One of the most common questions I am asked by both parents and students is “how to I find scholarships?”  Let me begin by saying that looking for scholarships is very time consuming. It is very important that you stay very organized and aware of deadlines.  Also, it is not your school counselor’s job to find scholarships for you. Their role is to assist you with the process.
    Let’s get started by identifying the difference between merit and competitive scholarships.  Both of these are given by the colleges themselves. Merit means that just by having the required GPA and ACT and applying correctly the student will receive the scholarship.  Competitive means that many students will apply with the required GPA and ACT score and the colleges will pick the top recipients from their applicant pool.
    One of the first places to look for scholarships is the colleges and universities that the senior is interested in.  Those will be listed on their admissions page. When you visit the college and meet the admissions representatives you should ask questions and find out all the details.  Be especially careful about deadlines. These are hard deadlines and I have seen many students miss out on scholarship offers because their applications were not received on time.  
There are many search engines out there, but this is a list of my personal favorites.  Also, I would recommend creating a separate email address that you use strictly for college/scholarships.  This helps ensure that you don’t miss out on important information by overlooking it. Make sure your college email address is appropriate.  

• Achieve Alabama – This is a search engine that was created by the State of Alabama Department of Education  to ensure that the local scholarships are in one place. It is relatively new and updated regularly.

• Scholarships.com -  The free scholarship search is one of the most established and robust, tracking a reported $19 billion in scholarships.

• Scholly – This is an app that matches students with scholarships based on the criteria that you enter about yourself.  Cost is 2.99 a month, one of the more expensive ones, but well worth it in my opinion.

• College Green Light – this is a free scholarship search engine for first generation and underrepresented college bound students.

• GoodCall Scholarship Search Engine – GoodCall integrates data and technology to make finding scholarships easier for students and their families.  And, unlike other scholarship search sites, they are totally free and open. You can view thousands of scholarships, filter results by specific requirements, and even search by competition level and entry difficulty.

• Fastweb.com – this company is owned by Monster.com, it claims to have more than 1.5 million scholarships in its database.  Expect a flood of emails, which is why I suggested creating a separate email address for college.

• Local Scholarships - check with your local businesses, civic organizations, churches, credit unions, banks, and your parents/grandparents place of employment.  

I would highly recommend creating an account for all of these.  Don’t be afraid to apply for a scholarship just because it requires an essay.   You should make sure you resume is updated and reflects organizations and accomplishments that you have done in the past few months.  There is no doubt that applying for scholarships is hard work, but it is well worth it in the end. The only way that you are guaranteed not to receive a scholarship is not to apply.

Out-of-state students receiving a merit-based scholarship or grant will qualify to pay their remaining tuition balance at the in-state rate. Please note that some forms of institutional grants, including the Gamecock Grant, may not apply to students receiving athletic aid. 
The Gamecock Grant pays $1,000 annually, with a 4-year amount of $4,000.

​The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship.  The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. With the 32nd class in 2020, the Foundation has provided over 6,300 Coca-Cola Scholars with more than $72 million in educational support. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship.
