- The fall 2020 admissions application will consist of 1 essay question (same for all applicants) and 2 short answer questions. Students will pick from a list of 5 prompts. The essay should be no longer than 500 words and the short answer responses should be no more than 250 words. We will not be releasing these questions early.
- Students will not be able to edit their answers once they submit the application. When a student pays the application fee and hits submit, there’s no going back.
- Please encourage seniors to use their correct/most frequently checked email address when completing the application.
- Application Fee: The admissions application fee is $50.00. Students may submit an application fee waiver to cover that cost (ACT, SAT or NACAC fee waivers are most common).
o If your students qualify for an application fee waiver, please have them contact me or look on our admission website for further instruction.
- Completed Application File: A “completed application file” includes…
o Online Application: http://www.auburn.edu/admissions/attention-applicants.html
o ACT/SAT Test Scores: Must be sent from the testing agency (ACT or College Board). We do not “superscore”. We do not require the writing portion.
o High School Transcripts: Must be sent from the high school. We look at a student’s weighted and cumulative GPA from 9th-11th grades for admissions and scholarships.
§ Mailing Address: Admissions Processing, 1550 East Glenn Avenue, Suite 1210, Auburn, AL 36849
§ They can also be sent electronically via Parchment, Naviance, National Clearing House, etc.
o Letters of recommendation, interviews, & resumes are not required.
- Application Review: There are many factors considered when making admissions decisions, including GPA, ACT/SAT, essay and short answer responses, high school involvement, work experience, community service and leadership positions just to name a few. I strongly encourage your students to put thoughtful consideration into their essay and short answer responses.
- Average ACT/SAT/GPA: The majority of our accepted students from last year fell between a 25-30 ACT, 1200-1380 SAT, and a 3.6-4.1 GPA. There are no minimum requirements for admissions.
