One of the most common questions I get from both parents and students is “Where do I look for scholarships?” This is a list of my favorite scholarship search engines. I would recommend that if you are a college bound senior that you sign up for an account in each one of these. Also, I would recommend creating a separate email address that you use strictly for college/scholarships. This helps ensure that you don’t miss out on important information by overlooking it.
Searching and applying for scholarships requires lots of hard work and effort. But it’s well worth it in the end. These are in no particular order of my preference.
The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program is the United States’ largest youth recognition program based exclusively on volunteer community service.
Created in 1995 by Prudential and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), the program honors middle level and high school students for outstanding service to others at the local, state and national level.
Thus far, it has recognized more than 120,000 young people who’ve made a difference – and inspired countless others to consider how they might contribute to their communities.
The Spirit of Community Awards program also honors youth volunteers in countries outside the U.S. where Prudential has a significant presence: Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Ireland, India, China, Brazil and Poland.
